Benavides Maddox, PC began when Adriana Benavides Maddox founded The Law Office of Adriana Benavides Maddox, PC, in 2006. Her practice became focused on civil litigation, including all aspects of family law — divorce, marital property, child custody, and child support.
In 2011, Edward F. Maddox joined the firm, and the name changed to Benavides Maddox, PC. Born and raised in Laredo, both partners bring deep roots in the community and a commitment to close personal service to South Texas clients that delivers the advice, commitment, and results that you deserve.
Together, Adriana and Edward handle a broad range of civil matters — from the district and county courts to the court of appeals — giving clients experienced counsel at every stage of a dispute and through every form of transaction.

The Attorneys
At Benavides Maddox, partners manage cases personally. You will know your attorney — and your attorney will know your case.
Adriana is a graduate of St. Mary’s University (BBA, International Business 1995) and St. Mary’s University—School of Law (JD/MBA 1999). She returned to Laredo upon graduation and has practiced here ever since — for over twenty-five years helping clients through their most difficult and important legal problems.
Her practice focuses on civil litigation, including all aspects of family law (divorce, marital property, child custody, and child support), probate litigation, trust and estate disputes, and business litigation. She regularly assists clients in oil, gas, and natural resources matters, both in litigation and transactions. Before founding her firm, she served as an Assistant District Attorney in Webb County, where she was Chief Prosecutor of the Domestic Violence Unit and a felony prosecutor.
Edward is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin (B.A., History 1996) and St. Mary’s University—School of Law (J.D. 1999). Born and raised in Laredo, his practice reflects a lifelong connection to the South Texas brush country.
He focuses on real property transactions and litigation, oil and gas leasing, development, and litigation, title and conveyance questions, surface use and environmental issues arising from drilling and production, and civil litigation. He has also successfully resolved federal criminal matters for clients. Along with trial work, Edward handles appeals, drawing on his experience as a Briefing Attorney for the Fourth Court of Appeals in San Antonio and, more recently, as an attorney who has briefed appeals and presented oral argument in the Court of Appeals.
